Samsung India in their recent press release stated that they have sold 2 million J8 and J6 smartphones since their launch on June 28 and May 22 respectively. The stats as per the report says that the models were attracting 50,000 customers per day.
The Samsung J6 was the first phone in India to fall under the affordable class of phone with an infinity screen that is an AMOLED panel with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone sports an Exynos 7870 SoC with 32GB of storage and additional expandable storage with MicroSD Card slot. The primary camera rocks a 13 MP f/1.9 unit. And the J6 is price tagged at INR15,990 ($233).
On the other hand, the J8 comes with Snapdragon 450 paired with 4GB of RAM and comes with 64GB of storage and is expandable with the help of microSD Card. The back rocks a dual camera setup with 16 MP + 5 MP. The hardware is powered by a 3,500mAh battery. And the J8 is price tagged at INR18,990 (around $280) through offline and online stores.
The Samsung Galaxy J6 and J8 are being manufactured in the Noida plant that was expanded and re-established earlier this month to become world’s biggest smartphone factory.
