Android’s default Clock app can now wake you up with Spotify Playlists

In today’s Googles’ blog post Google said about the integration of Spotify with alarms In the Google clock app. With this integration now you can wake up by setting a favourite Spotify playlist as your alarm tune and there is also a Spotify curated morning playlists.

Not only that, the app will let you continue the song by giving you an option even after you woke up so that you can jazz up while getting ready by listening to your favourite jams.

The interesting part is that it choose Spotify as an integration for the alarm app instead of going with its own google play music or YouTube music streaming services. What we think is that google wanted to look how the Spotify integration works with the number of users actually using the new integration before it puts their coders down to work on the integration for their native services (Google Play Music or YouTube Music).

The integration will roll out globally over the next week, so to have the integration make sure that you have the latest version of both the Clock app and the Spotify app. We did not see the integration on the Pixel 2 yet. You should see a tab for Spotify when choosing an alarm tone on an individual alarm entry.
