Xiaomi Launches Qin1 and Qin1s Phones

Xiaomi a launched a crowdfunded featurephone called the Qin 1 and the Qin 1s with the launch of these two devices, the Qin series was introduced. The phone is designed by Xiaomi and comes with AI capabilities and 4G radio. The phone has upheld by over 23,000 people already.


The series is actually named after a famous Chinese dynasty, the Qin dynasty. The two launched phones have the same dimensions and have the same design. The phone has a 2.8″ screen with a resolution of 240x320px. The overall phone measures 132 x 53.8 x 8.5 mm. The phone has dual micro-SIM slot.

Qin 1 specifications:

The Qin one is more of a traditional and simple phone, it is powered by MediaTek MT6260A chipset with one ARM7 CPU core, 8 MB RAM and 16 MB of storage. The OS running in this phone is known as Nucleus. As for connectivity, the phone has support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2, this model does not have support for GPS or LTE, so this is a 2G phone.

Qin 1s specifications:

The Qin 1s on the other and rocks a Spreadtrum SC9820 chipset with two Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.2 GHz. RAM is 256 MB, while storage is 512 MB. This model supports VoLTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2. So this model turns out to be a 4G phone.

Both the phone has a 1480mAh battery that should last long up to 15 days in a single charge. The speakers are located at the bottom of the phone.  Xiaomi’s Qin1 and Qin1s offer advanced features, including real-time multi-lingual voice translation support that is backed by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

Whats missing?

The camera and the audio jack. Now say goodbye to photos and listening to music while travelling.

The phones will come in two colour options, either Black or White costs CNY199, which is around INR 2000. The shipping will begin on September 15.
