On Wednesday in an event in China Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched V20 which will sell globally as Honor View 20(which will launch on January 22, 2019, in Paris). V20 is the fort hone by Honor to sport a punched hole in the screen for the selfie camera and is released before Samsung’s A8s.
Apart for the hole in the screen with the 25-megapixel selfie snapper the phone rocks a dual camera system at the back with Sony’s 48-Megapixel IMX586 sensor. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Kirin 980, 8/6 GB RAM with 128/256 GB of internal storage. It also supports GPU Turbo 2.0 technology support for some intense gaming sessions. It also ships with the Yoyo virtual assistant. Runs on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box based on MagicUI 2.0.1
The phone also has the all-new Link Turbo Technology, which intelligently switches between your LTE network o Wifi whenever needed or even uses both when the need arises for, which helps in seamless and buffer free connectivity.
It sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2310 pixels) TFT LCD display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 16.7 million colours, 91.82 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 398ppi pixel density.
Coming to the Camera, the Honor V20 sports a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with a f/1.8 aperture with support for 960fps slow-motion video recording, autofocus, AI HDR, and LED flash support. There’s a secondary 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to capture the depth of an image, and can be used for such features as slimming subjects in photos as well as creating 3D avatars of users. In the front, the punched hole holds a 25-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus support. V20 camera also features AI photo, night scene, portrait, fun AR, time-lapse photography.
The battery in the phone has a high capacity of 4000mAh with support for fast charging as well (4.5V/5A) through Type-C connectivity. The company is touting AI-based GPS tech with dual-band technology for more accurate positioning.
Honor V20 price starts at CNY 2,999 roughly Rs. 30,400 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage options and goes up to CNY 3,499 roughly Rs. 35,500 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option. It is available in Charm Blue, Red, and Midnight Black colour option. Pre-orders of the smartphone has already begun on Tmall, Vmall, Jingdong, Sunning.com, and more options, with shipping beginning from December 28. Honor has also launched Moschino Edition of the device priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 40,600) and this variant comes with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. This edition device comes only in Red and Blue colour options, and its first sale will be conducted on December 28 itself.
